Lagos NURTW official, Kunle Poly sent to Ikoyi prison

Asuu has promised not to call off one Month caution strike

 The Scholastic Staff Union of Colleges (ASUU) has promised not to call off the one-month caution strike it started on February 14. ASUU President, Teacher Victor Emmanuel Osodeke, said amid an appearance on Channels TV nowadays, Feb. 28, that the union will not back down on the strike as the Government government has reliably fizzled to keep the guarantees made to the union over the years. The union said it not needs guarantees from the government but action. Osodeke said: "For the past nine a long time or so, they have been giving us guarantees but once the strike is over, they backslide. So, our colleagues are tired of these guarantees which they don’t satisfy. What we need are actions." He said that in case the Government Government kept to its portion of the bargain, ASUU would not have gone on strike.   He oppose this idea with the contention that speakers are paid for doing nothing after investing months on strike. The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, on Monday, February 28, staged a protest in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and some other parts of the nation over the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. The National President of the association, Sunday Asefon, with other students, converged at Unity Fountain in Abuja on Monday February 28, displaying various placards.  The protest was also held in other states including, Kofar Nasarawa, Kano State; Jos, Plateau State; Minna, Niger State; Jalingo, Taraba State; Ekiti State; Oyo State, among others.   Speaking to newsmen, NANS president said they were marching from the Unity Fountain to the Federal Secretariat and then proceed to the National Assembly. Nigerian security forces bust Boko Haram camp in Sambisa

 Nigerian Army troops of 402 special forces brigade in Sambisa forest at the weekend discovered a huge fertilizer dump being used by Boko Haram/IS-West Africa Province (ISWAP) to make Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) being planted along Damboa-Biu road, Borno state.  POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Special Forces led by Major Bukar Dabo, of the 402 special forces brigade, also destroyed Boko Haram/ISWAP homes, after they fled following massive raid by troops of Operation Desert Sanity.  The world that we live in is a world full of wonders. Drama after another just keep on happening, even the least expected things do happen. But yet again, it is really fun, and keeps us entertained. What is happening in schools these days is nothing short of amusement. What students do at their respective scholls and the way they show up dressed at school is no way that a student is supposed to when going to school. But even though this keeps on happening, I love what a certain lecturer in Nigeria did to students who showed up at the lecture hall in tight jeans, and some of them with no bras on and some with no panties on. A lecturer at Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku reportedly barred pupils from attending class when they turned up without a permit.
